Canadian Leadership Retreat
Who? Who should attend this event? All chapter board members are encouraged to attend and in particular chapter presidents and presidents-elect. Members of both national boards and all national committee volunteers are also invited to join us.
What? What will we do? We will discuss a number of important topics for our profession in Canada.
Where? This retreat will be held in Montréal, Quebec at the Hôtel Bonaventure. You must reserve your room before June 20 to take advantage of our group rate. You can make your reservation online or by calling 514-878-2332 or toll free at 1-800-267-2575.
When? The Canadian Leadership Retreat will take place from July 21-23, 2022.
- Thursday, July 21 - 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Start of the Retreat
- Friday, July 22
- 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Retreat meetings
- 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. - GUEST SPEAKER PRESENTATION: In Defence of Philanthropy by Dr. Beth Breeze
- 6:00 p.m. - Cocktail reception hosted by the Quebec chapter at Terrasses Bonsecours in the Old Port of Montréal (364, Rue de la Commune Est)
- Saturday, July 23
- 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Retreat meetings
- Retreat ends at noon
Note: immediately following the Retreat, AFP Canada will host a Narrative for Canadian Fundraising Advocates Training from 1:00 to 4:00 on Saturday, July 23 at the hotel. Space is limited and registration closes on June 15. Register for the Advocates Training.
Why? Leaders from across Canada meet once a year to discuss the fundraising profession in our country. This is one of the BEST AFP meetings of the year. It offers an opportunity for leaders to contribute to important national initiatives led by AFP Canada and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy - Canada. This annual meeting is also a great time to meet other leaders and learn about what’s working in their chapters and how they are dealing with challenges.
