Audrey M. Johnson, MBA, LL.M, CFRE
Audrey M. Johnson is an avid runner, reader, traveler, and a certified fundraising executive with over 20 years of experience generating revenue for local, national, and international organizations. Currently she serves as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement for the Children’s Defense Fund.
Propelled by a commitment to community service, Audrey has served on boards of directors, government task forces and advisory groups to voice the issues she is passionate about to those in positions of power. Throughout her career, Audrey has been an advocate of social and racial justice for marginalized communities, working on issues of economic empowerment, violence against women, sexual and reproductive health and rights, access to education, and child and youth well-being.
A transplant from Canada, Audrey has been a member of AFP in Toronto and Washington DC for over 12 years and is delighted to be the AFP DC-Metro chapter president and the Chapter President’s Council representative to the AFP Global Board of Directors for 2023. Audrey is also proud to have been recognized as the 2019 volunteer and mentor of the year by Higher Achievement, a dynamic DC-Metro afterschool program for middle-school scholars.
Audrey holds a double major Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Calgary, an MBA specializing in leadership from Royal Roads University, which included an international business residency at the Grenoble School of Management in France, and she holds a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School.
