Perihan Abou El Ela

Perihan Abou El Ela is serving as At Large Director in AFP Global Board of Directors for the year 2023. She served as Chapters Presidents’ Council Representative in the global board of AFP for the year 2022, and she is Immediate Past Egypt & MENA Chapter President. She is privileged bringing an Arab women presentation to AFP Global Board of Directors.

Perihan is a Regional Fundraising Director in Greenpeace MENA (Middle East & North Africa), based in Egypt. She has extensive experience; 20+ years in working at international organizations and nonprofits in MENA region including USAID, European Commission, UNDP & Aga Khan Agency for Development. She is a frequent speaker in development agenda, SDGs and gender panels and serves as a board member in   local NGOs. A fundraising expert for 15 years in international and regional partnerships. Whereas her main area of expertise in branding target NGOs in the region and build sustainable relationships with key partners and stakeholders.

She has wide range of expertise in fundraising, agile leadership, budget forecasting, gender, governance, strategic planning, risk management and international relations.

A gender advocate with MA in Gender and Development who has worked on the broad thematic areas of Gender & Development, Governance, Women’s Economic Participation and Youth Development. Working on socio-economic and gender justice issues for Peri is a unique privilege to affect lives and advance change in countries, communities, and institutions.
