Thriving in a Chaotic Future

Futurist Jamais Cascio will help AFP frame the future, so we can be more future-ready and more able to make our preferred futures possible. Jamais will introduce the BANI Future: Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible—and he will show us how to flip it positive by being Bendable, Attentive, Neuorflexible, and Interconnected. The future will be increasingly chaotic, but we can thrive if we frame the future accurately and spark better possibilities.

Amelia Bird is a fundraising consultant and creative strategist who helps mission-driven organizations tell powerful, ethical stories. With 15 years in nonprofit leadership, she raised over $5 million for food systems initiatives in New Orleans. Now with Agora Consulting and Next Day Animations, she supports nonprofits through strategic fundraising and animated storytelling. Amelia brings a background in nonfiction writing and design to her work, ensuring communications are both compelling and clear. She holds an MFA in Nonfiction Writing and Book Arts from the University of Iowa, and is passionate about aligning messaging with values to drive meaningful impact.
