Thriving in a Chaotic Future

Futurist Jamais Cascio will help AFP frame the future, so we can be more future-ready and more able to make our preferred futures possible. Jamais will introduce the BANI Future: Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible—and he will show us how to flip it positive by being Bendable, Attentive, Neuorflexible, and Interconnected. The future will be increasingly chaotic, but we can thrive if we frame the future accurately and spark better possibilities.

Linda Jacobs Washington is an Executive Consultant with Bridge Philanthropic Consulting. She has led successful strategic planning processes including The New School Vera List Center, The Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, and the New York City Department of Education.

Linda served as the Assistant Secretary for Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation. She was also the Interim President & CEO of Conference of Minority Transportation Officials where she successfully executed the 43rd National Meeting and Training Conference. She managed the Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation event which honored such notables as Senator Barbara Boxer and Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton.
