Thriving in a Chaotic Future

Futurist Jamais Cascio will help AFP frame the future, so we can be more future-ready and more able to make our preferred futures possible. Jamais will introduce the BANI Future: Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible—and he will show us how to flip it positive by being Bendable, Attentive, Neuorflexible, and Interconnected. The future will be increasingly chaotic, but we can thrive if we frame the future accurately and spark better possibilities.

Liza Douglas

Liza Douglas, CFRE, has a 25-year career in fundraising leadership roles for domestic and international health and human service nonprofits. For the last ten years she has served as a senior executive in Transformational Philanthropy at the American Heart Association, where she has personally secured nearly $100 million in revenue. Her superpower is channeling donor priorities into high-impact 8-figure grant funded programs. Liza holds a Master’s degree in nonprofit administration, CFRE certification since 2008, and master trainer / faculty certification with MANGO and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is an active member of AFP’s Washington DC chapter.
