AFP FL, Suncoast Chapter Event: National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day (NPD) is a celebration of Philanthropy: defined as “love of mankind” or “goodwill to the human race”.  The day was first recognized in 1986, when President Ronald Reagan proclaimed November 15th as National Philanthropy Day (NPD).  Since then, each year thousands around the world take time to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy – and those people active in the philanthropic community – have made to our lives, our communities and our world.

The AFP Suncoast chapter marks National Philanthropy Day with a November luncheon. Awards are given to individuals and businesses that are having a profound impact on our community through their contributions of gifts, time, and their spirit of philanthropy.
