November 10th, 2020
12 noon -1:15 PM

As we’ve witnessed these past few months, so much of the response to COVID-19 and continued social justice advocacy work has advanced due to the generosity and investment from philanthropists throughout the Greater Milwaukee area. This year, NPD will highlight philanthropy’s role in furthering racial equity, inclusion, and community change. Almost by definition, communities unify people for collaborative action and shared benefit. That’s why 2020 will be remembered as a year when the unifying powers of community were put to severe test. When circumstances divide us, it’s too easy to lose sight of what unites us. Together, let’s commit to change that on November 10.

On November 10th, 12 noon -1:15 PM, the AFPSEWI chapter will bring you an important online discussion on Philanthropy's Role in Advancing Equity, Inclusion and Systemic Change.

The discussion will be moderated by Christoper Boston, Senior Pastor, Lamb of God Missionary Baptist Church. Our panelists include Ellen Gilligan, CEO of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Joe’Mar Hooper, Executive Director of Safe & Sound, Brianna Saz-Perez, Executive Director of Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, and Tony Shields, President and CEO of the Wisconsin Philanthropic Network.

Each of these panelists can tell a personal and organizational story about their journey toward racial equity and systems change – stories that can inspire similar journeys for each of us.
