Better Together, It’s what makes Hawaii work is the theme for the 2018 National Philanthropy Day conference. This year, AFP Aloha Chapter wanted to focus on community – the importance of gathering together as one, supporting each other, and working towards making Hawaii a better place. Community is the heart and soul of Hawaii and it is something that we want to celebrate and embrace.
Philanthropy is “the love of humankind,” and National Philanthropy Day® (NPD) is the day that thousands of people around the world come together to both (1) put that word into action and (2) recognize the change that word has brought to our communities.
In short, NPD is a celebration of philanthropy—giving, volunteering and charitable engagement—that highlights the accomplishments, large and small, that philanthropy— and all those involved in the philanthropic process—makes to society and the world.
The Awards Luncheon is held at the 'Alohilani Resort between morning and afternoon educational sessions to recognize outstanding local philanthropists. No other platform honors acts of giving and volunteering. Leaders in philanthropy typically prefer to shy away from the limelight, but Aloha Chapter honors them on this special day as an inspiration to others. The National Philanthropy Day® Awards Luncheon will recognize Hawaii’s organizations and individuals who are making positive changes in Hawaii. This memorable event is an opportunity once a year to acknowledge the generosity of individuals and organizations who help make our island home a better place to live.

- Full Day Conference Registration includes an Awards Luncheon seat (open seating).
- Applicable seat credit: If an attendee registers for the Full Day Conference that includes a NPD Awards Luncheon seat and sits on a paid table, they will be issued a $50 seat credit. Credit will be issued upon confirmation of the paid table's guest list.
- Please note, we do not offer a partial day conference registration or allow multiple attendees utilizing one full day conference registration.
Registration closes: Thursday, November 8, 2018, 5pm (HST).
For Table purchases, please email your guest list to office@afphawaii.org no later than Thursday, November 8, 2018, 5pm (HST). Please include any vegetarian lunch requests when submitting guest list.
Parking:
Validated event parking is $8 for self-parking and $12 for valet parking. Validated parking is good for 8 hours. Entrance to the parking garage is on Lili'uokalani Avenue.
