(Ottawa, Ont.) The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Canada, the largest community of fundraising professionals in the country, is pleased to announce a new partnership with CIBC.

In 2020, CIBC contributed $75 million to more than 4,800 nonprofits across North America, helping them deliver timely and much-needed programs and services. In addition to their generous financial support, CIBC’s team offers expertise to our sector through its Community Relationships and Wealth Management teams as well as their Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Commercial Banking group.

“We are proud to welcome CIBC as an AFP Canada partner,” said Ken Mayhew, chair of AFP Canada. “Their knowledge will be of great benefit to our members. We are looking forward to sharing their expertise with AFP members in Canada.”

AFP members can look forward to listening to timely and informative webinars presented by CIBC. Topics such as mental health resources for nonprofit organizations and the economic outlook for our sector are just some of CIBC’s presentations that will be of interest to professional fundraisers in Canada.

AFP Canada, a nonprofit formed in 2017, was created to bring a Canadian perspective to AFP’s government relations and communications. AFP Canada represents more than 3,200 fundraising leaders across the country working to support causes and missions that help Canadians from coast to coast to coast. The organization serves as the voice of the fundraising profession in Canada and is part of the larger AFP Global network, the largest community of professional fundraisers in the world.

CIBC is a leading North American financial institution with 10 million personal banking, business, public sector, non-profit and institutional clients. Across personal and business banking, commercial banking and wealth management, and capital markets businesses, CIBC offers a full range of advice, solutions and services through its leading digital banking network, and locations across Canada with offices in the United States and around the world.

“We are thrilled to partner with AFP Canada and continue to help the charitable sector serve Canadians in communities across the country,” said Steve Kuwahara, Market Vice-President, Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Group, Commercial Banking at CIBC. “Giving back is deeply embedded in our culture and our team at CIBC is proud to continue supporting and contributing to the amazing work of the non-profit sector in Canada.”
