National Philanthropy Day Highlight: The American Muslim Fund
Throughout the month of November, the Association of Fundraising Professionals will be highlighting honorees from National Philanthropy Day chapter events around the world, showcasing outstanding donors, volunteers, corporations, foundations and others who are being recognized for their commitment to change and philanthropy.
Today, we’re showcasing the American Muslim Fund, which is being honored by the AFP Golden Gate Chapter as its Outstanding Foundation for 2019.
The American Muslim Fund was founded in 2016 with the mission to create donor advised funds and giving circles, distributing grants, and building endowments for the Muslim community. Over the last two years, the American Muslim Fund has granted over $1 million to 115 nonprofits to support efforts such as disaster and humanitarian relief, support for food banks, domestic violence shelters, and the protection of civil liberties within the American Muslim community.
The AFP Golden Gate Chapter will be hosting a National Philanthropy Day event and honoring the American Muslim Fund on November 15, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Fairmont San Francisco Hotel. For more information regarding the event and honoree, please click here.
