New Fundraising Board Chair for the AFP U.S. Foundation for Philanthropy, David M. Coyne, CFRE

(Arlington, VA) David M. Coyne, CFRE will serve in a two-year term as the chair of the AFP U.S. Foundation for Philanthropy Fundraising Board in 2025-2026. Mr. Coyne is the president of The Sheridan Group, a full-service fundraising consulting firm based in Silver Spring, MD, founded in 1983. He has been a member of AFP since 1991 and has held numerous leadership roles within the organization, including at the chapter level and with the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy. In the 1990s, he also worked for the Foundation when it was the NSFRE Foundation.

“Serving in this role is a great honor, but it’s not really about me… it’s about us," said Coyne. "About how every AFP member can combine forces to advance philanthropy and our noble profession’s role in it. The Foundation’s work in the areas of leadership, ethics, research and IDEA has real impact and empowers us all to better serve our respective causes. My message to every AFP member is that if you don’t already make it a habit to support the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, I hope you’ll consider joining me in 2025.”
