Chamberlain Scholarship Campaign

As the world’s largest scholarship program for fundraising professionals, the Chamberlain Scholarship Program is a pivotal gateway for many AFP members to become leaders within the association and the fundraising profession.  More than 2,200 people have been awarded scholarships since the program’s inception in 2000.  AFP Chapters administer the program by providing one conference registration annually to someone in their chapter who have never attended the AFP International Conference on Fundraising before.

Lori Gusdorf Scholarship Fund

Lori Gusdorf's career has been nothing short of transformational -- not only for AFP and the AFP Foundation but for the entire philanthropic sector. Throughout her tenure with AFP and the AFP Foundations for Philanthropy, Lori has worked tirelessly to strengthen the fundraising community, ensuring that professionals like you and I have access to the educational opportunities, leadership development, resources and connections needed to thrive in our profession. Programs such as AFP LEAD, the Fundraising Effectiveness Project, and the AFP Leadership Institute, along with scholarship opportunities like the Chamberlin Scholarship and the Diverse Communities in Fundraising Scholarship have all flourished under her guidance. These initiatives have strengthened our sector, ensuring that organizations are equipped to fulfill their missions and enhance the quality of life for those they serve.  As she embarks on her well-earned retirement, we have a unique opportunity to honor her legacy by investing in the future of the fundraising profession—one of her deepest passions. Lori’s wish is that any contributions made in her name will help fundraisers directly by supporting the Chamberlain Scholarship Program – scholarships to AFP ICON that provide access to cutting-edge education and training that enhances their ability to make a greater impact for their organizations, communities and the nonprofit sector. By giving in honor of Lori, you are not only celebrating her remarkable career -- you are ensuring that her legacy continues to shape and support fundraising leaders and the profession she cares about so deeply.

Fundraising Effectiveness Project - Growth and Giving Research

The Growth in Giving Initiative seeks to identify and understand the many variables that affect philanthropic giving in the United States. Many of these variables are well known and understood, such as the relationship between the economy and giving overall. Other variables that impact growth in giving require in-depth study, including investment in fundraising and individual giving strategies. This research seeks to identify these variables in an effort to comprehend all that goes into making the United States charitable sector as successful as possible in obtaining the resources needed to fulfill its nonprofit mission.
