Jerome Cheung, Senior Fundraising Consultant, Stratcom

As Senior Fundraising Consultant at Stratcom, Jerome Cheung takes the lead on delivering Stratcom’s fundraising consultancy services and advising clients on integrating digital, phone and text fundraising campaigns.

Prior to Stratcom, Jerome worked for ten years in face-to-face and phone fundraising with Public Outreach in Canada and the US. There, Jerome pioneered retention analysis for face-to-face fundraising and spearheaded the development of mobile devices for donation processing. Jerome managed donation fulfillment programs for charities such as American Red Cross and has extensive expertise in monthly giving. As Managing Director of Public Outreach US, he played a key role in Public Outreach’s expansion into the US market. His work for organizations such as Amnesty international USA produced record breaking face-to-face donor retention. Jerome has also worked as a fundraiser for Greenpeace Canada and Ecojustice.

At National Democratic Institute, Jerome worked on election observation, political party support and candidate debates to promote and strengthen democracy in Indonesia, Cambodia and Timor Leste. Prior to that Jerome worked for USC Canada implementing community development programs in rural Indonesia such as clean water supply, sustainable permaculture and micro-lending. This background in civic participation, advocacy and sustainable development provides Jerome with a deep understanding of civil society practices, needs and institutions.

Jerome is fluent in English and Indonesian and has conversational knowledge of French.

Morgan Steacy launched his career in fundraising in 2013 at a telephone fundraising agency in Montreal where he knew the opportunity to work in an exciting, fast-paced job devoted to making the world around him a better place was a perfect fit!

Morgan’s career has given him the opportunity to use the telephone to raise money for charities and not-for-profits, including political parties, environmental organizations, health foundations, social justice and humanitarian causes by focusing on increasing monthly giving within those organizations. He has run federal election fundraising campaigns, helped to develop and implement SMS campaigns, including some of the first text-to-give campaigns in Canada.

Determined to diversify the fundraising channels through which he could support not-for-profits, with a particular emphasis on legacy giving, Morgan took on a role at a Direct Mail agency known in Canada as a leader in legacy fundraising. After two years there, Morgan had the opportunity to work for Greenpeace Canada managing their monthly giving program, overseeing tele-fundraising, face-to-face, and direct mail as well as supporting with legacy and major gift work.

When the chance to go back to tele-fundraising at Stratcom arose, Morgan couldn’t wait to get back to developing and implementing strategy and creative on behalf of the numerous causes that he’s passionate about.
