Applications are open to AFP Chapters and fundraising community groups across Canada. Programs should be designed to support fundraising professionals and communities through IDEAA-focused learning and dialogue.
Eligible activities may include workshops, speaker sessions, panel discussions, training programs, or community conversations focused on IDEAA and anti-racism within the fundraising profession.
Groups may request funding support of up to $2,000 CAD per program.
Eligible expenses may include facilitator honoraria, venue costs, accessibility supports, technology/platform fees, promotional materials, and other costs directly related to program delivery.
Yes. Programs may be delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.
Yes. While AFP Chapters may apply for funding, funded programming is encouraged to be inclusive and accessible to the broader fundraising and nonprofit community where appropriate.
Applications will be reviewed by the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy – Canada Executive Committee using a standardized review process and evaluation criteria focused on IDEAA alignment, community impact, accessibility, and feasibility. An evaluation guide and scoring rubric have also been provided to support transparency in the review process.
To support fairness and accountability, Executive Committee members affiliated with a chapter or community group applying for funding will recuse themselves from deliberations and decision-making related to that application.
Applicants can expect to receive a response within approximately 30–60 days of submission.
Successful applicants will receive 50% of the approved funding amount within approximately 30 days of award confirmation. The remaining 50% will be distributed following submission of the required post-activity evaluation report.
Yes. All funded groups are required to complete a post-activity evaluation report, including attendance numbers, participant feedback, and reflections on the impact of the program.
At this time, each AFP Chapter or community group may submit one application to the IDEAA Community Programming Fund. This approach is intended to help ensure broad geographic representation and equitable access to funding opportunities across Canada.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until March 2027, or until all available funding has been awarded.
