Offering Support and Guidance to Fundraisers
Dear AFP members in Canada,
As members of a caring profession, you already give so much of yourself to make the world a better place. During this stressful and difficult time, we wanted to take a moment to share our thoughts with you.
You are part of a wonderful network—a caring community of members who are there for each other during challenging times such as these. We know that things are going to be difficult in the weeks and months ahead. Reach out to your AFP colleagues. Seek strength and guidance from them. Remember, you are not alone.
Fundraising is needed. Communities are feeling the impact of COVID-19 in many ways. Although revenue will be lost due to event cancellations, and major donors and corporations may pull back their support, the communities you serve need you now more than ever. Adapting and changing is key in these challenging times.
We must carry on. Fundraising has weathered economic downturns, postal strikes, SARS and other emergencies in the past. While there is no doubt that the coronavirus will be felt by many organizations, you must continue your important work. It truly matters.
On behalf of AFP in Canada, THANK YOU. We are grateful to all of you—for your dedication, passion and commitment to the causes you serve. AFP is here for you.
