Some years it can be quiet in the public policy space, but NOT this year. It’s a GREAT time to create a connection with a member of Congress and/or their staff (like you would with a donor) as Congress works on issues related to the charitable IRA rollover, the universal charitable deduction and others!  

There’s a very good chance that an expanded IRA rollover provision will be signed into law this year—if we keep the pressure on Congress!

Scheduling a meeting is straightforward: Contact the office and tell them you’re a constituent and would like to meet with the member of Congress and/or their staffer who handles charity/tax issues. (Meeting with a staffer is great—we’ll take those!)

And while Chapter Lobby Week is officially May 23 – 27, the most important thing is just to schedule a meeting—anytime!
