The Charitable Act

AFP’s current key legislative priority is passage of the Charitable Act, which would allow taxpayers, regardless of whether they itemize their taxes or not, to take a deduction for their giving. This bill is a reintroduction of the Universal Giving Pandemic Response and Recovery Act from 2021.

Other Giving Incentives/Nonprofit Legislation

AFP’s public policy program covers a lot of ground, working on issues such as the Charitable IRA Rollover, the Johnson Amendment, Form 990 disclosure, capital gains tax on gifts of securities and much more!
