AFP DC, Washington DC Metro Area Chapter Event: Project Management for the Win - How to Effectively Manage Projects and Wow Donors

May 15, 2024 | 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.

It is quite often that fundraising staff are responsible for the effective execution of a program or event. To be effective, a staff member must be able to successfully manage up and down, internally, and externally. This session is geared toward understanding basic project management tools and tricks to operationalize the deliverables for a program whether it be a grant, event execution, or sponsorship fulfillment. And, once the project is operationalized, how to proactively and effectively manage it and the people involved.

We will dig deep into the “human factor” related to project execution – how to build ownership and accountability among staff, leadership, and volunteers (and how to do that when you have little to no authority over those involved). Heavy on audience engagement, we will identify common people and project management mistakes and how to avoid and address them.

Participants will leave feeling confident in their ability to operationalize any given grant, event, or set of deliverables and execute to meet and exceed expectations.

Please join us on May 15th for this in-person event.
