AFP MI, Greater Detroit Chapter Event: Events - Dead or Alive?

January 9, 2025 | 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

As we move into 2025, it’s time to discuss the big question many fundraisers are facing: Do I need to re-evaluate my events strategy? Some fundraisers are receiving pressure to cancel or modify events amidst rising costs and decreasing attendance. Join this virtual panel discussion with Sommer Dawson, Executive Director at Accent Pontiac; Maureen Smith, Director of Corporate Relations at Forgotten Harvest and Patrick Andras, Board President at the Ferndale Cat Shelter to explore events strategies for nonprofits of all sizes and how to communicate strategy changes to your organization’s leadership, with the ultimate goal of helping your organization start the new year off on the right foot!

Following this session, you will receive:

  • A tool to assess an event’s feasibility and value to your organization
  • A list of event ideas with brief descriptions
  • A sample events timeline

Speakers:

  • Sommer Dawson (Brock), CFRE - Executive Director, Accent Pontiac
