James Tobias, CFRE
Jamie has spent over 20 years working in philanthropy with a record of success with university, healthcare, and community organizations.
As the Managing Director of Emory’s Brain Health team, Jamie works to secure program and research funding for Emory University and Emory Healthcare’s neurosciences and psychiatry programs. He has worked in development roles for the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, at Piedmont Healthcare Foundation, and at L’Arche USA. His experience spans the spectrum of giving from annual giving to major gifts and legacy commitments.
Currently, Jamie serves on multiple AFP Global and local chapter committees. He serves on the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA), working with affinity groups and is part of a work group focused on access. He previously served as chair of the Chapter Support Committee for AFP Global and in 2017 served as President of the AFP Greater Atlanta Chapter.
A native of Manning, South Carolina, Jamie received his Bachelor of Science from Clemson University in 2000 and received his CFRE in 2015. He currently resides in Decatur, Georgia with his partner Lance and their dog Casie.
