(Arlington, Va.)  The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the largest community of fundraising professionals in the world, has announced a new partnership with Salesforce.org, a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers organizations to connect with their donors, supporters and customers.

The partnership program supports AFP’s mission to advance effective fundraising in nonprofits around the world through the provision of top-notch, cutting-edge education and training and the promulgation of the highest ethical standards in the profession.

“Technology can play such a critical role in helping nonprofits deliver transformative programs and services to the community, but by the same token, not utilizing technology effectively can hamper a charity’s impact,” said Mike Geiger, MBA, CPA, president and CEO of AFP. “We couldn’t be more excited about entering into such an important partnership with Salesforce.org. Ever since its founding in 1999, Salesforce has committed to working with nonprofits. This partnership demonstrates their long-standing commitment to fundraising and philanthropy. Fundraisers are agents of social change, and Salesforce.org’s philosophy is that everyone who wants to change the world should have the technology to do so. We are proud to welcome Salesforce.org as an AFP Partner and are excited about their support of our mission to advance philanthropy through ethical and effective fundraising.”

In 1999, Salesforce pioneered the 1-1-1 model of integrated philanthropy, giving back one percent of its product, time and equity to support the charitable sector, which laid the foundation for Salesforce.org. Today, Salesforce.org empowers more than 40,000 nonprofits and educational institutions through technology, grants, and volunteering programs.

In its recent Social Impact Report 2018, Salesforce.org shared its progress on the path to impact. By providing the resources needed to make outcomes-focused decisions, the company is committed to helping empower its clients, its grantees, and its citizen philanthropists to advance even greater social impact.

“At Salesforce.org, we’re committed to the success of the nonprofit community,” said Rob Acker, CEO, Salesforce.org. “We are excited to embark on this partnership with AFP and the largest community of fundraising professionals in the world to better serve nonprofits in their use of technology."

The AFP Partners program was designed for companies that want to create a year-round partnership with AFP that showcases their commitment to the association and its mission to advance philanthropy and ethical fundraising throughout the world. As partners, organizations work with AFP to develop the most highly trained fundraisers possible and educate the public about the importance of philanthropy.
