(Arlington, VA) The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has selected executive search firm, DRiWaterstone Human Capital, to assist in identifying its next president & CEO.

DRi will be partnering with AFP Global Board Chair, Birgit Smith Burton, who is leading the CEO search effort, as well as the 2024 President & CEO Search Committee, to identify and vet a pool of qualified candidates, in order to select a leader who will drive continued growth and impact.

DRiWaterstone is based in Arlington, Virginia and has 24 years of experience successfully connecting nonprofits, foundations, associations, and social impact organizations with top mission and purpose-driven talent.

“As a firm committed to the nonprofit space and to development and advancement professionals at all levels since our inception, this assignment is particularly meaningful,” said Nancy Racette, chief operating officer at DRiWaterstone. “Our efforts to recruit a visionary CEO who will represent the profession, address global philanthropic challenges, and lead a global member-driven organization begin immediately and we welcome nominations for the role in anticipation of a soon-to-be released position profile.”

The President & CEO Search Committee will be chaired by Joyce Mitchell-Antoine of the AFP NC, Triangle Chapter. Joyce has a long history of volunteer service with AFP, including roles on the AFP Global Board of Directors, the AFP Foundation Fundraising Board, and the AFP Ethics Committee, of which she was recently chair.

Joyce is joined on the committee by a diverse group of AFP members, representing all facets of the AFP ecosystem, including AFP Canada and AFP Mexico.

"I am grateful and honored to serve in this leadership capacity and to work with the dedicated and thoughtful search committee members,” said Joyce Mitchell-Antoine, president & CEO search committee chair. “The weight and importance of our task cannot be underestimated. I am committed to working with the search committee to identify the right candidate to lead AFP Global into the future."
