We all know that around half of the people who die each year pass without having an estate plan in place.  It’s always a source of morbid humor in talks revolving around planned giving, estate planning, etc.  Like the story of the old man who was being implored by his attorney to put something down in writing, if for no other reason than to alleviate the strain on the children he was leaving behind.  “Those kids did nothing but stress me out for 30-some years.”, replied the man.  “They deserve some pay-back.”
