Nominations Now Open for the 2027 AFP Global Board of Directors

Nominations for the 2027 AFP Global Board of Directors are now open.

As Immediate Past Chair, it is my great honor to serve as Chair of the AFP Global Nominating Committee. The Committee is responsible for developing the slate of candidates that will be presented to the AFP membership for approval.

The Nominating Committee will meet in July to determine the slate for the 2027 calendar year. Nominations are being accepted for the following positions:

  • Chair-Elect
  • Two Officers (Secretary and Treasurer)
  • Four At-Large Directors

In accordance with the AFP Bylaws, the Board of Directors shall consist of no fewer than 12 and no more than 19 members. The Chair-Elect and At-Large Directors serve two-year terms, while Officers serve one-year terms. No elected director may serve more than eight consecutive years on the Board in any combination of roles, excluding service on the Chair-Elect track. Individuals may return to Board service after a minimum one-year break and may not serve again in an Officer position previously held.

In addition, nominations are open for the 2027 Chapter Presidents Council (CPC) Representative to the AFP Global Board. This individual serves a one-year, non-renewable term in this role. The CPC Representative must be a sitting Chapter President in 2027. Following the nomination deadline, an election will be conducted to determine who will fill this position. Voting for the CPC Representative is limited to members of the Chapter Presidents Council.

The Nominating Committee encourages qualified individuals who have demonstrated leadership in advancing the fundraising profession and/or strengthening AFP. Only self-nominations are permitted for Officer, At-Large Director, and CPC Representative roles.

If you are interested in learning more about serving on the board of directors, the application process, and the open positions for 2027, please join us for our Applying to the AFP Board of Directors information session on Wednesday, April 15 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern

Prior to submitting a nomination, please carefully review the criteria for Board service. The deadline for submission of completed nominations is June 10, 2026. All nominations must be submitted using the nomination form provided below.
