Open to individuals who:
- Hold some degree of responsibility directly for fundraising;
- Work within the U.S. and Canada and are compensated for their services;
- Subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and its bylaws and the AFP Code of Conduct;
- Promote the Donor Bill of Rights; and
- Are employed, or have been employed, by an organization that provides benefits to society.
Active members in good standing may vote, serve on chapter or Association committees and task forces and hold Association or chapter office.
This membership with AFP is not transferable.
All fees and dues are payable on an anniversary year basis. This membership includes two fees: the association fee and a local chapter dues fee.
Fees: $320 plus selected chapter dues (dues fee varies)

Find Your Chapter and Chapter Dues Fee
Open to individuals who:

All fees and dues are payable on an anniversary year basis. This membership includes two fees: the association fee and a flat local chapter dues fee.
Fees:
- 26 years old or younger: $95 ($65 association fee plus $30 chapter dues fee)
- 27 to 30 years old: $175 ($120 association fee plus $55 chapter dues fee)
Open to individuals OR volunteers who:
- Are engaged in fields related to fundraising and fundraising support;
- Have mutual interests with fundraising professionals;
- Subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and its bylaws and the AFP Code of Conduct; and
- Promote the Donor Bill of Rights.
Associate members in good standing may vote, serve on chapter or Association committees and task forces and hold Association or chapter office.

Open to individuals who no longer practice as paid fundraising professionals but who, at the time they seek Retired Member status, have been Professional members of the Association for the immediate past five consecutive years and subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and its bylaws and the AFP Code of Conduct and promote the Donor Bill of Rights.
Retired members in good standing may vote, serve on chapter boards, committees and task forces, as well as Association committees and task forces, but may not hold any Association office.
All fees and dues are payable on an anniversary year basis. This membership includes two fees: the association fee and a local chapter dues fee.
Fees: $75 plus selected chapter dues (dues fee varies)

Open to individuals outside of the U.S. and Canada who wish to join as an electronic-only based member. Global e-membership members must subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and its bylaws and the AFP Code of Conduct and promote the Donor Bill of Rights.
Global e-membership members in good standing may vote, serve on chapter boards, committees and task forces, as well as Association committees and task forces, but may not hold any Association office.

Open to:
- Students in a two- or four-year full time degree granting, certificate, or diploma program at an accredited college or university; or
- Individuals who serve as a faculty advisor for a collegiate chapter of AFP;
- Subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards and its bylaws and the AFP Code of Conduct;
- Promote the Donor Bill of Rights;
To qualify for the Collegiate Member rate, the individual must:
- Attend a school that has an AFP collegiate chapter
- Be a full time undergrad or graduate student
If you do not meet the requirement you will be charged the Professional Member rate.
Collegiate members in good standing may vote, serve on chapter boards, committees and task forces, as well as Association committees and task forces, but may not hold any Association office.
Membership in this category is limited to those students affiliated with a Collegiate Chapter of AFP. If your school currently does not have a collegiate chapter, please contact [email protected] to find out how to start one on your campus.

Fees: $35 plus collegiate chapter dues (dues fees varies).
Organizational Memberships (purchase by organizations only)
This membership is open to nonprofit organizations who can answer yes to all the following criteria:
- Must be a nonprofit organization – individuals, consultants and for-profit entities may apply for a different category;
- An operating budget of less than $2,000,000 USD;
- A fundraising department with less than two (2) Full time equivalent (FTE) staff;
- Individually incorporated or otherwise organized as a separate entity in the laws of the specific country; and
- Not affiliated with a larger institution supporting their operations.
The organization will designate one fundraising professional to receive Professional Member* benefits. The membership is retained by the organization and may be transferred to another individual if the original designated employee leaves the organization. In the event of a change of employment of the designated member, written or email notification to AFP Global is required.

The Executive Circle Business Membership allows your company to designate two employees to receive full benefits as Associate members* of the Association.

Installment Plans, Multi-Year Options, Refund Policy and Membership FAQs
AFP Installment Plans enable members to spread AFP membership dues payments across 6 or 12 months, making membership fees more accessible and manageable.
Eligibility, Enrollment & Renewal Details
- Our Installment Plans are available only to members in the Professional or Associate membership categories.
- Discount coupons are not eligible for Installment Plans.
- All AFP members are required to maintain membership in both AFP Global and a local AFP chapter.
- The Installment Plan is not available for auto-renewal.
- Members who have already paid in full for the current membership year are not eligible to switch to an installment plan mid-term.
- To renew your installment plan, members must reselect the Installment Plan each year by completing the AFP Monthly Installment Form and emailing it to [email protected]

- The total membership cost (Global + Chapter dues) will be divided into equal monthly installments. Each payment will occur on the same day of each month. Chapter dues vary by location. Find Your Chapter and Chapter Dues Fee.
- Members may choose between 6 or 12 month installment plans
- A $2.00 processing fee will be added to each monthly installment.
- Please allow for 24-28 hours for processing.

Payment Responsibility & Account Requirements
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date credit card on file at all times.
- Promptly update payment information if a card expires, is replaced, or is declined.
- Ensure profile information is up to date, including email and address.
- Ensure timely and uninterrupted monthly payments for the full duration of the installment plan.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in interrupted benefits, account suspension, or membership cancellation.
Non-Payment, Cancellation & Ethical Standards
AFP membership is a professional commitment that carries both financial and ethical responsibility.
- Membership will be revoked and canceled if installment payments are not kept current.
- Members whose payments lapse for more than 30 days will lose access immediately.
- Intentionally maintaining an unpaid balance while continuing to access member benefits is considered unethical and inconsistent with AFP’s professional standards.
- Keeping dues current ensures fairness, integrity, and sustainability across the global and chapter communities.
