AFP Vancouver Island: Project Management Fundamentals

Understanding project management principles and how to apply them is becoming an important skill set in the workplace. Often mission critical projects are managed internally and employees divide their time between day-to-day responsibilities and advancing projects. This can be stressful and lead to misunderstandings and overall project delays.

The objective of this project management program is to introduce participants to practical project management principles and tools to build project management skills and to apply them in the workplace. The training will be tailored to the participants in this session and will addresses individual needs. The learning program will include:

1. A questionnaire prior to the workshop, this will be emailed to all participants to understand their unique project challenges and questions.

2. An interactive virtual workshop (approx. 1.5 hours) providing an overview of practical project management principles as well as addressing the unique challenges based on the participants’ questionnaires.

3. A conference call follow-up, approx. 1 hour in length, one to two weeks following the workshop to answer any additional project management questions and to enhance the learnings from the workshop.
