National Philanthropy Day Spotlight: Power to Act
Throughout the month of November, the Association of Fundraising Professionals will be highlighting honorees from National Philanthropy Day chapter events around the world, showcasing outstanding donors, volunteers, corporations, foundations and others who are being recognized for their commitment to change and philanthropy.
Today we’re showcasing Power to Act, honored by the AFP Colorado Chapter.
Power to Act, a nonprofit organization based in Bayfield, Colo., is being honored for their commitment to assisting women in the community. The organization works to donate handbags filled with practical, essential items to women who may have left abusive homes, those who may be entering shelters or women who are entering more permanent living situations.
Through local community and global partnerships, Power to Act has donated more than 700 handbags with more than 9,300 items to women since 2010.
