Chapter Insurance Information

All AFP Chapters are covered by group policies of Officers' & Directors' Insurance and General Liability. U.S. and Canadian chapters are covered together, and chapters in Mexico, Asia and Egypt are covered by a separate policy.

Certificates of insurance may be requested when a chapter requires general liability coverage for a special event or conference, or wishes to provide proof of general liability coverage to a landlord for rental of office space. Certificates will be issued for a maximum of $1,000,000.00. Please note that because chapters are covered under an “umbrella” policy, additional coverage is not available.

General liability policy covers:

  • General liability for special events or conferences
  • Liability only for rental properties.

General liability policy DOES NOT cover:

  • automobiles
  • workmen’s compensation
  • event cancellation
  • contents of your rental space
  • unlicensed distribution of alcohol at a chapter event

If your chapter meets monthly at the same location, you may be asked to provide a Certificate of Insurance annually or you could be asked to provide one monthly. This will depend on the vendor and certificates should be requested accordingly.
