AFP VA, Virginia Piedmont Chapter

Lynchburg, Bedford, Danville, and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Halifax, Nelson, and Pittsylvania

History: The Piedmont Chapter was formed as a provisional chapter in 1996 with Carl Manfield as the first chapter president. Since its beginning, the chapter has focused on education for members, nonmembers and for the public on the philanthropic spirit that makes a community great. The Piedmont Chapter has sponsored educational events with other chapters in Virginia and North Carolina. We sponsor a Philanthropy Day every year and give awards to outstanding philanthropists, volunteers and fundraisers in several categories, which has helped promote awareness of the philanthropic spirit within our community. The Piedmont Chapter meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Boonsboro Country Club.

Membership benefits offered by chapter: The Piedmont Chapter provides outstanding fellowship, networking and programming designed to benefit development professionals and allow them the opportunity to learn and share knowledge about the fundraising profession and the people and organizations served.  For more information about membership, please contact VP of Membership, Wendy Adams (wadams@patrickhenry.org).
