AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter: Chapter Faculty Training

AFP Chapters - Do you need to build capacity and grow your faculty? Have volunteers interested in facilitating courses for your chapter? Need help with faculty orientation and teaching practice? Then you won't want to miss this session!

AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter has contracted Master Trainer, Dree Thomson-Diamond ACFRE, to lead our volunteers and board members through a two-day faculty training workshop so that we can increase the number of trained faculty members available to teach courses for our chapter's offerings. As this workshop is being held virtually, we are inviting your chapter to participate should you have any current faculty members in need of a refresher course, or if you have AFP members interested in becoming faculty to teach courses for your own chapter offerings.

About the session:
Adult learning, leadership and facilitation - these are all skills that are essential in our work and in our ability to present in-front of and work with groups. Yet, for many of us, teaching and facilitation, implementing learning through leadership, are concepts we learn about, but may not always have the opportunity to implement. This workshop encompasses both adult learning theory, leadership and facilitation learning as well as the opportunity to practice your instructional techniques in a supportive, informative learning environment.

About the Facilitator:
Effective. Creative. Experienced. Dree Thomson-Diamond specializes in charitable sector growth and capacity building all couched in best practices. Her guidance and expertise in revitalizing and establishing new organizations, optimizing fund development programs, and building board and staff capacity works. An Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive, AFP Faculty Training Academy Master Trainer and recognized leader in the charitable sector, Dree provides organizational audits and feasibility studies, helps create strong fund development programs, works with clients to streamline operations and successfully coaches and guides clients through planning to implementation of major campaigns.
