AFP Edmonton & Area Chapter: Lessons Learned in Leadership

Join us as we engage Jane Potentier to share learnings from her career by answering some top frequently asked questions, we will also provide an opportunity for participants to join in the conversation to ask additional questions.

About the speaker:
Jane Potentier is a strategic leader with over 25 years' experience leading fundraising and alumni relations programs, primarily in the post-secondary sector.

She joined the University of Victoria as Associate Vice-President, Alumni and Development in March 2020, after 18 years at the University of Alberta, where she served in a variety of roles including Manager, Annual Fund; Director, Corporate and Foundations Relations; Assistant Dean, Advancement, Faculty of Arts and most recently, as Senior Director, Faculty Development.

While in Alberta, she generated increasing philanthropic support by leading comprehensive development and alumni relations programs and working on campaigns. Jane mentored and developed diverse teams of professionals and delivered on strategic goals through collaboration with academic leaders, donors and other key stakeholders.

Jane is also a long-time volunteer leader in AFP, having served as AFP Chapter President, AFP Edmonton & Area, as a member of Canada Council and she is currently the Chair-Elect of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada.
