Leading Fundraising Software Firm to Support Fundraising Community’s Work in Diversity and Inclusion

(Arlington, VA)  The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the largest association of fundraising professionals in the world, has announced a new strategic relationship with DonorPerfect, a division of SofterWare, Inc. and a leading fundraising success platform for nonprofits, to increase diversity and inclusion in the fundraising profession through new ground-breaking research and tools and resources that focus on equity and access.

DonorPerfect joins AFP’s Strategic Sponsorship program as an Impact Partner. The company will serve as Presenting Sponsor of the AFP IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access) Survey, a collaborative research piece originated by AFP that includes nine other fundraising-related organizations. In addition, DonorPerfect will serve as Supporting Sponsor of AFP’s overall IDEA initiative, which encompasses a number of programs that have the overarching mission of ensuring that all fundraisers, regardless of background or any particular characteristic, have the opportunity to achieve success—however they define it—in the profession.

“Like AFP—which has been addressing IDEA issues since the 1980s—DonorPerfect has a long history of emphasizing diversity and inclusion, and they were one of the first organizations to support our IDEA work, including our Women’s Impact Initiative,” said Mike Geiger, MBA, CPA, president and CEO of AFP. “The fundraising profession is incredibly fortunate to have a partner like DonorPerfect who believes in these values and principles and is so supportive of our profession. Working together, AFP and DonorPerfect will help the fundraising profession and nonprofit sector take the necessary but tough steps of creating equity and ensuring that fundraisers and charities have the knowledge and tools to not just talk about diversity and inclusion, but actually strive for and live diversity and inclusion.”

Through the collaboration, DonorPerfect is supporting AFP’s IDEA Survey, which is the first comprehensive view of inclusion and diversity practices across the profession and the sector. The survey will feature responses from members belonging to many different fundraising organizations, creating a wealth of data not previously before accessed, and the findings will be announced at AFP ICON Virtual, June 28 – 30. DonorPerfect will also be providing webinars, articles and thought leadership pieces to AFP’s fundraising community related to IDEA.

“DonorPerfect is honored to support AFP IDEA,” said Emily Rose Patz, brand manager at DonorPerfect. “From sponsoring the IDEA Survey to launching content collaborations like The Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women, our continued partnership with AFP empowers us to actively contribute to the development of a more inclusive and equitable nonprofit community.”

The AFP Partners Program provides participating organizations with year-round opportunities to engage the fundraising community and pursue corporate social responsibility through tangential support of the causes for which they work. Through thought leadership, marketing, content and professional development channels, AFP Partners position themselves as industry leaders committed to advancing philanthropy and ethical fundraising worldwide. Their financial and programmatic support also enables AFP to develop highly competent fundraisers and educate the public on the profession’s ability to fuel societal change in critical arenas like education, healthcare, community development, and equity and inclusion.
