Ann Hale to Lead AFP Volunteer Leadership in 2018
November 22, 2017
AFP membership has approved the proposed slate of board of directors for 2018, and Ann Hale, CFRE, has been selected to serve a second year as chair.
In September and October, eligible AFP members had the opportunity to vote on a proposed slate of directors. Approximately five percent of eligible members, or almost 1,500, participated in the voting process. Of those who voted, 97 percent supported the slate, 1 percent voted no, and 2 percent abstained.
The officers for the year were then elected by the full AFP board during the meeting in October.
Hale is the chief development officer for the Anchorage Museum in Anchorage, Alaska.
“I am so excited to be able to serve as chair of AFP for a second year,” said Hale. “2017 was a very good year for our association. We are in such a strong position now, thanks to the work of interim president and CEO, Jason Lee, and I’m looking forward to working with our new CEO, Mike Geiger, as we head into 2018. Being able to give back to the community that has given so much me is an honor, and I know all of our volunteer leadership feels that way.”
The full board slate was developed by the Committee on Directorship, chaired by immediate past chair Patrick Feeley, CFRE.
“I feel so privileged to work with the talented team of fundraisers and sector leaders that we have on the board,” continued Hale. “I think we have the right combination of skills, expertise and leadership to continue AFP on our upward trend and address some of the key issues and challenges facing our profession while providing the services our members want. 2018 should be a great year for AFP and the fundraising profession.”
