AFP ICON 2025 Recap: A Celebration of Connection, Inspiration, and Impact
More than 3,000 fundraising professionals from around the globe gathered in Seattle, Washington, for AFP ICON 2025, and what an unforgettable experience it was! From world-class keynotes to countless learning moments and networking opportunities, ICON 2025 delivered three days of learning, engaging, and reigniting our passions.
Seattle proved to be an incredible host city—its vibrant culture, stunning skyline, and dynamic energy set the perfect backdrop for the largest gathering of fundraising professionals in the world.
During the opening general session, we proudly welcomed Art Taylor, AFP’s new President and CEO, to the main stage. His vision, passion, and leadership are already inspiring our community and signaling an exciting new chapter for AFP.
We were also honored to recognize the outstanding contributions of our 2025 AFP Awards for Philanthropy recipients. These individuals and organizations are shining examples of the transformative power of giving. View the full list of award winners here.
The energy soared with our opening keynote from José Hernández—astronaut, engineer, and a living example of perseverance and possibility. His story of rising to the stars above reminded us all what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
Monday night was nothing short of magical thanks to the AFP Advancement Northwest Chapter, who hosted an incredible social event at Seattle’s iconic Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP). Members mingled among music legends, movie memorabilia, and interactive exhibits, forging new connections in a setting that truly celebrated creativity and community.
We closed AFP ICON 2025 on a high note with our dynamic closing keynote, "Engage, Empower, Elevate", featuring a rapid-fire lineup of expert speakers sharing powerful ideas and actionable insights. It was a fast-paced, energizing finale that left us inspired to return to our missions with renewed focus and fire.
