National Philanthropy Day® Spotlight: Vincent Spina
Vincent Spina, 2021 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser, AFP Central New York Chapter
A native and resident of Syracuse and president of the local office of BPAS Actuarial and Pension Services, Vincent Spina knows people throughout his community and works tirelessly to make healthcare, housing, and educational opportunities available to all. His continued support for others has led to him being named the 2021 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser by the AFP Central New York Chapter.
Vince has been a long-time contributor to Crouse Health and, more specifically, the Baker Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Crouse Hospital. For more than 45 years, Crouse’s NICU has cared for premature and critically ill infants from throughout central and northern New York. Vince and his wife, Michele, are grateful parents of a NICU “graduate” and, since then, Vince has been a passionate advocate for Crouse and this very special program.
Vince has gone beyond the role of donor, giving his time and talent to further the work of the Crouse Health Foundation. In addition, Vince serves or has served as a board member for other nonprofits, including Empire Housing and Development Corp., Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse, Syracuse Diocesan Investment Fund, Christian Brothers Academy, Le Moyne College, Upstate Medical University Foundation, Arc of Onondaga Foundation, and New York Employee Benefits Conference Syracuse Chapter.
The AFP Central New York Chapter will host its National Philanthropy Day event on Monday, Nov. 15. Learn more about the event here.
