Mike’s Monday Message: Expressing #AFPMemberLove

It’s Valentine’s Day, and I know a lot of fundraisers will be practicing #donorlove today and working on cultivating and strengthening relationships with supporters.

At AFP, we want to express #AFPmemberlove today—appreciation and thanks for all the members of the AFP community. The work you do, the change you create in your community as part of the IMPACT profession—it’s extraordinary! 

Imagine a world without fundraising and the impact you help create. What would our world look like without the connections, the accomplishments, the support, the community and the change you are involved with every day? Not a pretty thought! And while we still have so much to do, we can and should take a moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved through fundraising and philanthropy.

So, thank you! And as a token of our appreciation, I want to remind you about the $100 credit that all AFP professional, young professional and small nonprofit organizational members receive towards any webinar or conference recording through our Blue Sky/Path Learning Management System (LMS). Also today, as another form of #AFPmemberlove, we’re launching the latest iteration of our newsletter, AFP Daily!

We’ve been working on a new format for the newsletter over the past several months to make it easier to read and more accessible, focusing on creating smaller, distinct sections within the newsletter and more white space overall. We’ll be including a calendar of events, as well as key job postings, every day, along with our usual articles and resources about fundraising and the AFP community.

Community has been a key theme in rolling out the new Daily, and you’ll see more features about AFP members and chapters moving forward. We know you look to AFP for education and networking, and those will be priorities as well, using a variety of different vehicles—blogs, videos, interviews and lots more. 

AFP Daily is a critical way we keep you in touch with the AFP Global fundraising community.
