Presenter:

LaShonda Williams, MPA, CFRE, recently joined South Texas College of Law Houston as the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. Joining the team in the college’s Centennial year she serves as a vital member of the Advancement and Alumni Engagement department, which spans all fundraising functions. She leads the charge of developing and implementing the alumni engagement strategic plan to amplify annual giving donor acquisition.  

Ms. Williams possesses over two decades of experience in higher education. She recently served as the Director of the Annual Fund of her alma mater Prairie View A&M University for nearly seven years.  During her tenure, she developed campaign plans which included innovative initiatives that transitioned alumni affinity into philanthropic support through multi-channel communication and solicitation. Her efforts resulted in 40% increase in alumni giving, raising over $4.2 M comprised of nearly 30 endowments and over 4,000 new donors.

Prior to joining PVAMU, she was employed with the University of Houston for over a decade impacting in three divisions: College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences, and Bauer College of Business.

She possesses a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Troy State University. LaShonda is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and life member of PVAMU National Alumni Association where she serves on the President Senior Advisory Committee.
