AFP Webinar: The Secrets of Small Shop Succession Planning
1:00-2:00 PM Eastern | Presenter: Amy Wolfe, MPPA, CFRE
Eligible for 1 CFRE Education Point
Planning to be replaced is not an area many leaders consider. It is essential for small shops to create a thoughtful transition strategy, taking into account the need to budget, leverage organizational strengths, determine the impact to staff and stakeholders, and prepare for the change. In this session, we will share small shop succession stories, offer tangible lessons learned, and highlight how the process creates access and equity.
By the end of this session, participants will understand critical elements for small shop succession, including:
- Developing a realistic and robust timeline.
- Correlation to organization mission, vision, values, and strategic plans.
- Opportunities to develop internal staff with an emphasis on creating access for underrepresented populations.
- Creating a budget that incorporates transition and staff development.
- Executing a transparent and engaging communications plan, both internally and externally.
