Nicole McVan, MA
Nicole McVan (they/them) is a seasoned nonprofit leader with more than two decades of international experience. They take great pride in their role as vice president of the philanthropy and marketing team at United Way Greater Toronto, working with an incredible team to raise millions annually to combat poverty and create more inclusive communities. A sought-after speaker and writer on equity and fundraising, McVan prioritizes community engagement, approaching their work through an anti-oppressive lens as a white, able-bodied, transgender, and nonbinary individual. They hold a master’s degree in nonprofit marketing and is conducting ongoing studies in community engagement. Residing on the traditional territories of the Mississauga and Haudenosaunee nations, McVan actively acknowledges their role as a treaty person, committed to reconciliation with Indigenous communities on Turtle Island.
